Christopher Sheil

President of the Evatt Foundation

Chris is a writer living in Elizabeth Bay. His work has been published by the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian, Dissent, the Australian Journal of Public Administration, Southern Review, Labour History, Utilities Policy, Urban Policy and Research, the Journal of Industrial Relations, the Journal of Australian Political Economy and the journal of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science, Search. He was a columnist for the Australian Financial Review from 2001 to 2003 and his books have been published by Allen & Unwin, Pluto Press and UNSW Press. A cabinet official under many Labor and Liberal-National party governments and the author of numerous public policies, since 2002 he has been based in the School of History at the University of New South Wales. Chris also holds adjunct appointments with the University of Sydney and Boston University, has a bachelors degree from the University of New South Wales, a doctorate from the University of Wollongong, and is a member of the Australian Society of Authors. He was elected President of the Evatt Foundation in 2006.
